Mark Carney

Chief Executive Officer
Mark Carney is a proven cyber security executive leader focused on assembling high performing teams. In his 25+ year experience, Mark has a track record of building rapid-growth consulting and technology-enabled services organizations.
Carney formerly held executive roles at Coalfire, Kudelski Security, FireMon and FishNet Security (now Optiv). Carney is an accomplished, widely published industry thought leader; and frequent speaker.
Mark's involvement in the cybersecurity community shows his passion for contributing to making the world a safer place. Mr. Carney holds numerous board and advisor roles, including Jericho Security, Crema, Endari, NightDragon, Momentum Cyber, and Duke University Cybersecurity Industry Advisory Board.
Mr. Carney holds a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in management information systems and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Paul Petefish

President & Chief Strategy Officer | Co-Founder
Paul Petefish is the President, Chief Strategy Officer and Co-Founder of Evolve Security and Evolve Academy. With more than 20 years of cybersecurity experience, he is an industry leader, regularly sought out to provide insights on topics such as web application security, attack and penetration testing, cyber training and solutions for filling the global cybersecurity talent gap. Paul is an acknowledged contributor to the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) 2010 Top 10 Most Critical Web Application Security Risks. He is a well-known industry speaker and has appeared as a presenter at many information security conferences including ISC2 Chicago, OWASP Chicago, NebraskaCERT's Cyber Security Forum, the Computer Security Institute’s (“CSI”) annual conference, and the Information Systems Security Association’s (“ISSA”) international conference.

Andrew Hamilton

Chief Financial Officer | Co-Founder
Andrew Hamilton is the CFO and Co-Founder of Evolve Security and leads financial and strategic operations. Prior to Evolve Security, Andrew spent his career in investment banking and private equity where he collaborated with management teams on various growth initiatives, structured M&A transactions, originated and evaluated potential investments, and performed industry research. Andrew’s cybersecurity experience began in private equity while at Lake Capital, who owned FishNet Security (now known as Optiv Security), a national leader in Information Security solutions, integration, and professional and managed services. Andrew is a graduate of the University of Chicago.

Sam Harris

Chief Technical Officer | Co-Founder
As a serial entrepreneur, Sam Harris has built and sold two tech startups and grown two more to over $100M in revenue. He currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer of Evolve Security where he leads the Application and Infrastructure teams. Complex database-driven web applications act as the central nervous system of modern businesses, and Sam leverages proprietary management techniques to get teams to build this software faster and more affordably than traditional methods without compromising quality, security, or employee enjoyment. Sam holds a master's degree in Engineering from Columbia University in New York and served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force.

Jason Rowland

Chief Delivery Officer
Jason Rowland is Chief Delivery Officer at Evolve Security, focusing on Oversight for all delivery aspects of the organization, including services, product, and customer success.

A highly accomplished cybersecurity and business executive with over 20 years of industry experience. For more than a decade, he has excelled at building and leading high-performing cybersecurity consulting teams, delivering innovative solutions, driving strategic growth, and fostering innovation across rapidly evolving technology landscapes. His exceptional leadership and proven track record of success have been showcased through pivotal roles at industry-leading organizations.

Prior to Evolve Security, Jason was Vice President of Application and Cloud Security at Coalfire, Jason led the organizations application security, offensive security, and cloud security business lines. His leadership was pivotal in driving revenue growth through operational consistency and excellence in project execution. Previously, as an Associate Partner at IBM, Jason spearheaded the delivery of managed detection and response services tailored to the unique threats faced by Fortune 500 companies.

As Vice President of Cyber Consulting at Alagen, Jason led sales and delivery across strategic advisory services, threat and exposure management, and managed threat detection and response. Recognized for his ability to engage with C-level executives, he consistently provided strategic guidance to align security programs with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.

A visionary leader, Jason combines deep technical expertise with a strategic perspective, making him a trusted authority in the cybersecurity field. He actively contributes to the industry’s growth and development by participating in organizations dedicated to fostering new talent in cybersecurity.

Ray Ruemmele

Chief Revenue Officer
Ray Ruemmele brings over 20 years of transformative leadership experience in enterprise software and cybersecurity to his role as Chief Revenue Officer at Evolve Security. An accomplished go-to-market executive, Ray excels at building high-performance teams that drive sustainable revenue growth.

Prior to joining Evolve Security, Ray served as Vice President of Sales at Kudelski Security, leading the organization through significant growth and expansion. His extensive background includes leadership positions at IBM, Lenovo, Juniper, and Okta, where he consistently accelerated market penetration and revenue generation.

Ray holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois and is actively involved in the cybersecurity community. At Evolve Security, he leads all revenue-generating initiatives, including sales strategy, customer success, and strategic partnerships, focusing on expanding market presence while ensuring exceptional client value.

Angie Ferguson

People Operations Manager
Angie Ferguson is a seasoned HR professional with over 15 years of dedicated experience in employee relations and human resources management. She has built a reputation for promoting positive employer-employee relationships and fostering a collaborative, high-performance work environment. She is steadfast to her mission: to build workplaces where respect, understanding and shared success are the cornerstone of the employee experience. At the heart of Angie’s leadership approach is a deep love for people and a sincere concern for their well-being and professional growth. She believes that an organization thrives when its employees feel seen, heard, and empowered to contribute.

JoDee Sanford

Director of Client Services
JoDee Sanford is a strategy and operations leader focused on building the Client Success function and strengthening delivery execution across the customer lifecycle. She provides operational oversight, governance, and performance management across cross-functional teams, partnering with executive leadership to refine service offerings, elevate the customer experience, and deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.

With nearly 20 years of experience scaling teams, systems, and service delivery in high-growth, highly regulated environments, JoDee is known for pairing human-centered leadership with rigorous operational execution. She builds high-performing, distributed teams and creates the processes, governance, and accountability needed to deliver measurable results.

Prior to Evolve Security, JoDee led enterprise operations at Coalfire across portfolio management, delivery operations, quality, resource management, customer satisfaction, and contract management—supporting teams across the full client lifecycle and enabling scalable growth in distributed environments.

JoDee is passionate about developing talent and building cultures where teams feel supported, accountable, and proud of the outcomes they deliver. She holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and English from Texas A&M University–Commerce.

Michael Raines

Manager of Offensive Security Services
Michael Raines is the Manager of Offensive Security Services at Evolve Security, where he leads high-performing teams delivering real-world attack simulations for organizations facing complex and evolving threat landscapes. With a focus on thoughtful execution, collaboration, and real-world impact, Michael draws on his experience as an offensive security engineer, helping clients understand how modern threats operate and how to address them in practical, meaningful ways. He is known for his ability to translate technical findings into clear, actionable insights that resonate from technical teams to C-suite executives. He partners closely with leadership and his team of engineers to advance methodologies, improve efficiency through automation, and ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery at scale. Michael maintains deep familiarity with modern cloud and on-premises environments, as well as industry frameworks, enabling clients to make informed, risk-based security decisions aligned with their unique business needs.
